According to US local time, on May 6, the 2023 annual meeting of shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway Company ended in the city of Omaha, Nebraska State. Warren Buffett, Chairman of the Board of Berkshire Hathaway Company, and Charlie Munger, Vice Chairman, answered 60 questions from global shareholders in more than 5 hours. During this, the Sino-US relations remained the focus of attention of the participants.
Buffett and Munger believe that tensions between the US and China have caused unnecessary damage to both countries. Munger, 99, used the word “stupid” three times when describing all the actions that escalated tensions between China and the US. He said that the US should treat China well, and have much freer trade with China for the common good. On the other hand, Buffett agrees with Munger. He said that through cooperation, both the US and China can become better countries, full of competition, and achieve common prosperity and development.
