The emergence of love is built on the basis of the spiritual similarity of partners. Psychologist Charles Chu told the results of his research for the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
The Specialist created the fictional character Jamie to establish a mental affinity between him and the volunteers. Charles Chu’s team told the participants of the experiment about the invented person, and then discussed acute social issues with them and at the same time gave Jamie’s opinion.
People whose point of view was shared by a fictional character were more likely to believe in the existence of a true self. Therefore, they unconsciously fell in love with someone who spiritually converges with them, the psychologist suggested.
Confidence persisted in less important matters, and even when the volunteer and Jamie were wrong. The discovery may explain the origin of falling in love, reports IA Kulik .
