John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the National Security Council at the White House, said that in the event of a default, the United States of America could continue to provide assistance to Ukraine until the end of exercise.
“As for Ukraine’s support, it depends on the funds allocated to us by Congress last year. We are still using these committed funds and hope to continue to do so through the end of the current fiscal year,” Kirby said.
On the eve, US leader Joe Biden said that a possible default by his country would cause problems for the whole world.
In early May, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned of the risk of exhaustion of the country’s emergency measures due to the reaching of the public debt ceiling.
