Four trauma surgeons simultaneously operated on Zakhar Prilepin, injured in an assassination attempt in Nizhny Novgorod. Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin spoke about the details of the complex operation on Telegram.

“We worked simultaneously with 8 hands (four surgeons – a combined team of our specialists and doctors from the Federal Research Medical Center),” Nikitin wrote.

He added that Prilepin underwent a “high-tech operation for osteosynthesis of leg bones”, and noted that the doctors who came to the rescue from the capital “very highly appreciate the work of doctors from Nizhny Novgorod”.

According to Nikitin, Prilepin came to his senses after the operation.

“Zakhar regained consciousness last night, today he is already in a good mood and in a good mood,” the governor summed up.

Earlier it was reported that on May 12, Prilepin successfully underwent the second stage of the operation to repair the fractures.

Recall that Prilepin suffered as a result of a terrorist attack – undermining his car in Nizhny Novgorod. The explosion killed the driver, an associate of writer Alexander Shubin. Alexander Permyakov was arrested for committing a terrorist attack, the investigation believes he was recruited by the Ukrainian intelligence services and planted explosives along the route of Prilepin’s car.
