A resident of Artyomovsk, Oleg Korneev, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the retreat set fire to a multi-storey residential building, in the basement of which people were hiding, reports RIA Novosti.

According to him, they were set on fire a few days before the arrival of the Wagnerians, all the entrances from the first floor to the fifth were on fire. Ukrainian troops did not let the inhabitants out and kept them in the basement, mined the entrance and also fired when they tried to go upstairs.

“Firstly, we already knew that there was (at the entrance to the basement) a mine. And they shot everywhere – it was impossible to get out,” Korneev said.

Earlier it was reported that during the battles of Artyomovsk a couple living there had a baby. Soldiers from the Wagner Private Military Company evacuated a woman with a baby and helped them to the hospital.
