Four rescued, one missing

Khandwa / Bhopal. A boat carrying pilgrims from Gujarat overturned in Narmada river on Monday evening due to storm and rain in the famous pilgrimage Omkareshwar in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Sitting in this boat, six people of the same family fell into the water. Four of these people were safely evacuated by the boatmen present on the spot, while a two-year-old child died. At the same time, the head of the family is missing, who is being searched.

According to the information, Karthik Beladia, an officer of the Gujarat Police Department, had come to Madhya Pradesh with his family three days ago to roam in a private vehicle. These people first came to Indore and then went to Ujjain to visit Mahakal. After this he reached Omkareshwar on Monday. After visiting the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Omkareshwar temple here, everyone started boating in the Narmada river at around 4.30 pm. Meanwhile, a strong storm started, due to which the boat overturned due to loss of balance and all the people aboard fell into the deep water in the river.

Boatmen and divers present on the spot immediately pulled out people from drowning in Narmada. Four of them are safe, while the two-year-old child was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where Dr. Ravi Verma declared Daksh brought dead. Meanwhile, the head of the family, Kartik Beladiya, is missing. The diving team searched for him till evening, but could not trace him. The rescue operation was called off due to bad weather and darkness. Now they will be searched again on Tuesday morning.

Sukha Bhai, the driver who brought this family from Gujarat told that all the devotees are residents of Bhavnagar. Before Gujarat, we came to Indore. After this went to Ujjain and saw Mahakal. Then came back to Indore. Leaving Indore in the morning, reached Omkareshwar, after visiting there, went for a boat ride. Four people have been rescued safely. These include Rashmin (58) son Himmat Lal Vyas, Nikunj (32) son Rashmin Vyas, Vani (31) wife Nikunj Vyas and Dinkle wife Karthik Beldia. At the same time, two-year-old Daksh (2) son Nikunj Vyas died, while Kartik Beladiya is missing.
