The icon “Holy Trinity” by Andrei Rublev on the Orthodox Trinity holiday on June 4 will be displayed in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This is reported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

“The icon of the Holy Trinity by Andrei Rublev will be exhibited on June 4, 2023, on the Orthodox feast of the Trinity, in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior,” the ministry’s press service said.

After the exhibition, the icon will undergo a scheduled restoration, and then it will be transferred to the Trinity Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Lavra Sergius, TASS said.

The icon of the Holy Trinity, by the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was previously transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church. Since 1929 it has been part of the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery. In September, the Holy Trinity was reported as endangered, with 61 “significant changes” found on it.
