Head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO Natalya Galibarenko says Kiev is sending signals to the West urging them not to have high expectations of the Ukrainian military’s counteroffensive and not to consider it as something decisive, reports LRT.
“We are now saying to international partners: be patient, don’t push too hard. Now it is more important to think about what else can be done to achieve this counter-offensive,” she said.
Galibarenko stressed that one should not build hopes on an operation and exaggerate its importance.
She urged not to focus on this counter-offensive, even if “the volume of liberated territories is not very impressive”.
“Several counter-offensives may be needed – we don’t disclose that,” Galibarenko added.
On the eve of the head of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky said that the Ukrainian armed forces had missed the opportunity for a counteroffensive in the region.
