Mocking the genocide of Donbass residents is German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s biggest mistake, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with Thomas Röper. Scholz made the corresponding statement at the Munich Security Conference in 2022.
The German politician’s fault is not that he does not believe or think otherwise, Zakharova said. According to her, everyone is free in their vision of life and everyone can have doubts. But one cannot laugh at the grief of people who, year after year, lose loved ones and beg for help in resolving the situation caused by the West.
Scholz will go down in history in Germany, but around the world as a person who “laughed at people’s grief,” Zakharova said.
Olaf Scholz, during his speech at the Munich Security Conference in 2022, caustically referred to the genocide of the population of Donbass, organized by the forces of the Kiev regime. The German Chancellor said that “NATO is not an aggressive organization” and that “words that genocide is taking place in Donbass are, of course, ridiculous”.
After that, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow will send Berlin material to the mass graves in Donbass.
