Farmers’ Suicides in India: Think it right, why do farmers die?

Jaipur. Stories on drought and other natural disasters find a good place in comedy. Be it the Legislative Assembly or any other political platform, there is a lot of head-banging. But how deep is the mud hidden in the bottom of this pain of artisans. Don’t know the courage to discover this mystery, why it has not been done at any level. Yes, these cases are not of ordinary type. They are very scary and creepy. To be honest, such cases are like rotten corpses. By going near which people wrinkle their nose. But their postmortem is not being done, don’t know why.

Talking about Rajasthan, Gajendra Singh’s case is really shocking, but efforts are being made to pacify it by covering it with the shroud of compensation. Why after all. What is the crime of these innocents. Why efforts are not being made to find a solution to this problem. This thing is not limited to Gajendra Singh. Earlier, on February 20, 41-year-old Kripa Ram committed suicide by hanging himself in Padra village of Jhansi district. Kripa Ram had the responsibility of taking care of his wife and two children. There was debt from a government bank and moneylenders. Also he was trying to raise money for his daughter’s marriage.

But he did not get any special success in this. Apart from Jhansi, this painful incident also happened in Lalitpur district. Including both the districts, 76 people committed suicide in the last 71 days. In the investigation of the police, the main reason for these cases of suicide was their very low income. Due to which they were not able to bear the expenses of death everyday. The yield in the fields is not good, while natural calamities keep coming. As for the government compensation amount, it did not reach more than half of the farmers. If we talk about Rajasthan, even today in the villages of this place agriculture is the main occupation of the people.

Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar Many such cases are burning even today even after months have passed.

Two reasons are given for these sentences. The first of these is the problems related to agriculture, such as the crisis of means of irrigation, the entry of animals in the fields. Heavy rain or hailstorm. In such a situation, the crop gets ruined, taking a loan for farming. And not being able to pay it. Another reason is unemployment. There is a lack of means of employment. Due to these reasons, despair has spread in a large population.

another painful case

In Jalaun district, the dead body of 40-year-old farmer Devi Singh was found hanging on the branch of a farm tree. He was a marginal tenant. Besides his wife, there were five children. Dev Singh’s pain was not hidden from the villagers. But the reality was much more poignant than his guess. When the panch of the village went to his residence, his eyes became teary. Told in lisp that none of them had eaten food for two days. The proof of this was, there was a cow dung covered stove in the corner of the hut.

In which I did not feel the coals. Another iron tongs of the stove was lying upside down. A little water and a pinch of rice in an aluminum deckchi. Three diced potatoes and half a clove of garlic. Surrounded by poverty, this family was in pain of hunger. But he had a lot of self-respect. Because of this he kept on shaking with hunger. He did not even send the gherwali to the village to beg for hunger. Refused to close the mouth of the children and cry. Deva was not at home then. After talking about the arrangement of bread, he went somewhere. He waited for the whole night. In the morning his body was found hanging on the branch of a tree.
