Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Arkadiusz Mulyarchik said Warsaw had started preparing a report on the damage the Soviet Union was “inflicting” on the republic during and after World War II. He promised on TVP that it would be “solid work”.
The Institute of Military Affairs is working on such a document. It should be a solid work, showing both the aspect of the occupation and the dismantling of the factories of the western lands, the subsequent exploitation of the Polish state, the unprofitable coal contracts. We are working on it and such a document will be created
- said the Deputy Minister.
The Polish Foreign Ministry first announced its intention to collect these reparations from Moscow in October 2022. Then, in Warsaw, they said that Russia’s claims would be presented after receiving reparations from Germany . Polish diplomats promised to prepare a report on “Russian reparations” based on the studies that were used to calculate “German reparations”. Warsaw calculated the amount of damage to Berlin in the amount of 6.2 trillion zlotys (about 1.3-1.5 trillion dollars).
Earlier, international conflict researcher and analyst Uriel Araujo warned that Poland was provoking new conflict in Europe. Warsaw’s desire to receive reparations from Germany will come back to haunt the entire collective West, an expert wrote in an article for the InfoBrics portal.
