The carrier rocket with the Kondor-FKA satellite was delivered and installed on the launch pad of the Vostochny cosmodrome. Roscosmos announced preparations for the launch of a next-generation satellite.
“The Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the first Kondor-FKA radar satellite was transported to the Vostochny launch complex,” the state company’s press service said.
Remember that Kondor-FKA is a new generation satellite for remote sensing of the Earth. It was created for all-weather, 24-hour surveillance of our planet, including the Arctic. Now the first spacecraft in this series is being prepared for launch. Roscosmos plans to launch four more satellites into orbit: the second launch is scheduled for 2024, the next in 2029-2030.
Earlier it was reported of the successful launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle from Cape Canaveral, which launched 56 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit to provide high-speed internet access.
