Law enforcement is checking an audio recording of a conversation between two men, whose voices, media reports suggest, may belong to AEON company founder Roman Trotsenko and the head of Realogic, the creator of the design factory Moscow Flacon , Nikolai Matushevsky.
Recall that the dialogue between the two oligarchs, known as the “Conversation of Roma and Kolya”, began to be mentioned on the Web at the end of April. The opinions of Internet users were immediately divided: some believe that the conversation between Trotsenko and Matushevsky is a fake. Others, on the contrary, are sure that the audio file is genuine.
What were the conditional businessmen talking about?
In short, subscribers complain that everything is bad in Russia. Quote: “They will soon be killing each other in the streets of Moscow,” Trotsenko reportedly said. He is sure that now is the best time to flee the country. He is taken up by the interlocutor, the conditional Matushevsky, who admits that lately it has “been very difficult for him in Russia”.
“I understood that something was wrong, nothing to do there,” he adds.
“There is no need to remember what happened in Russia,” Trotsenko reportedly advised. “It doesn’t exist anymore and it won’t happen again. <…> In Indonesia, in ten years, everything will increase tenfold, and in Russia it will fall by half.
Additionally, the men discuss the country’s leader Vladimir Putin and his entourage. In the dialogue of the stranger there are such remarks: “Do you really think that this person can rule the country?” Or: “Unfortunately, Russia, which we love so sincerely, has ended up in the clutches of a few assholes.”
“Stupid joke”
When exactly the recording was made is a mystery. A number of media writes that at the beginning of the year. On the Youtube platform, the video is dated January 10, 2023. Moreover, one of the subscribers, who speaks with the voice of Matushevsky, clarifies at the beginning of the conversation that he will come to Russia at the end of January.
Trotsenko and Matushevsky later denied the authenticity of the audio recording. The AEON company founder told reporters he hadn’t spoken to Matushevsky in “over a year.” In turn, the head of Realogic called it all “a stupid joke using artificial intelligence.”
This audio recording, which has caused so much noise, is the second in a row in recent times. Earlier, producer Iosif Prigozhin and ex-senator Farhad Akhmetov found themselves in a similar situation. Then a recording of the conversation between the two men was also broadcast on social networks. There you can hear how they criticize the authorities of the Russian Federation in an obscene form. However, no one has yet verified whether these votes really belong to Prigozhin and Akhmetov.
Kolokoltsev will understand
The Democratic Party of Russia believes that in times of “difficult foreign policy situation” it is not worth spreading counterfeits and, moreover, “switching the situation inside the country”. In this regard, the DPR officially appealed to Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev with a request to “thoroughly study” the dialogue allegedly between Trotsenko and allegedly Matushevsky.
“We request you to conduct an audit in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation,” the letter said. “And take immediate action to address what happened.”
In particular, the members of the DPR propose to call the defendants in the alleged conversation at the central office of the Ministry of the Interior “so that they give explanations”. Moreover, party members are insisting on an official phonoscopic examination of the outrageous audio recording.
