The athlete said he was disappointed with the politics and moral values ​​of the country in which he was born, raised and first entered the octagon.
And now we have learned that Monson has officially renounced his citizenship of the United States.
“I handed over my American passport to the American consulate in Istanbul. I renounced my American citizenship because of the politics of this country,” the fighter explained.
Now Monson is a citizen of only one country – Russia, whose passport he received in 2018.
Since then, the athlete has fought only on the territory of the Russian Federation, and has also been engaged in political, social and training activities.
