Chinese State Consul, Foreign Minister Qin Kang met with IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi in Beijing on May 23. China firmly adheres to the nuclear strategy of self-defense and defence, in line with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. It is firmly committed to upholding the international nuclear non-proliferation regime, firmly supports the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and firmly strengthens its country’s nuclear security. China supports the IAEA to play a greater role in global governance of the nuclear field, and hopes that the IAEA will carry out its safeguards and supervision duties in an impartial and professional manner, and safeguard the international nuclear non-proliferation regime. Said that the IAEA attaches great importance to cooperation with China, and will conduct relevant consultations between the United States, Britain and Australia on nuclear submarine cooperation in a transparent manner, and will not support the discharge of nuclear-contaminated water from any country .(Credits- China Media Group, Beijing)
