The statement said:

Saudi Arabia and the United States of America reported better compliance with the short-term ceasefire agreement and humanitarian arrangements in Sudan on May 25, although the use of military aircraft and sporadic gunfire have been observed in Sudan. The situation has improved since May 24, when the ceasefire monitoring mechanism revealed major violations of the agreement. In the aftermath of the massive violations of May 24, mediators reached out to the parties, stressing that renewed fighting has endangered civilians, hampered humanitarian aid and prevented the restoration of essential services, undermining key objectives of the ceasefire -fire. They warned the parties against further violations and implored them to better respect the May 25 ceasefire, which they did. On 25 May, humanitarian actors delivered urgently needed medical supplies to several locations in Sudan. In addition, maintenance teams were able to carry out repairs to begin restoring communication services in Khartoum and other parts of Sudan. Urges the mediators to continue the positive progress of May 25 for the remainder of the short-term ceasefire and to uphold their commitments under the May 11 Declaration of Commitment for the Protection of Civilians in Sudan. Both sides must put the needs of the Sudanese people first and abide by the terms agreed just days ago. Saudi Arabia and the United States call on the parties to respect their obligations under the ceasefire agreement and to take the necessary measures to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and the restoration of essential services .

Sporadic clashes have erupted between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces over the past few hours, shattering the relative calm in the capital, Khartoum.
