Death of businessman Miki Jagtiani, founder of the Landmark group

“Landmark Group today announces that its Founder and Distinguished Chairman, Mukesh (Mickey) Jagtiani, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family,” the company said in an emailed statement.

Originally from India, Jagtiani started his business in 1973 with a single store in Bahrain and expanded the group into the Middle East, Africa and India.

The Dubai-based group operates the Babyshop, Centrepoint, Home Centre, Lifestyle, Splash, Shoe Mart and Emax brands.

Emirati businessman Majid Saif Al Ghurair wrote on Twitter: “Today Dubai lost a man who is one of the most important players in the retail and real estate industries. Mickey Jagtiani, founder of Landmark Group, has passed away.”


Local media reported that he died at the age of 70.
