Bhopal. Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Prem Singh Patel gave state-level awards to cow herders under Chief Minister Animal Husbandry Development Scheme on Sunday at Bhima Nayak Prerna Kendra of village Dhababawadi in Barwani district. Distributed State level award. Director Animal Husbandry and Dairy Dr. R.K. Mehiya was also present.

Animal Husbandry Minister Patel awarded the first prize of Rs 2 lakh to Ashish Sharma, a resident of Shajapur, for giving an average of 14.760 liters of milk per day by the Malvi breed cow in the competition of the state’s original bovine breed cows, 12.882 liters by the Malvi breed cow. Ghanshyam Prajapat, a resident of Bandarbela, Badnagar, got second prize of one lakh rupees for giving milk and third prize of Rs. Awarded with letters and symbols.

Minister Patel awarded Rs 2 lakh to cow-herder Rajmani Yadav, a resident of Nayagaon district Chhatarpur, for producing an average of 25.21 liters of milk per day by a Gir breed cow in the competition of Indian advanced breed milch cows, an average of 22.45 liters per day by a Gir breed cow. Second prize of one lakh rupees to Gopalak Neelu Murari Dewan of Gwaltoli district Neemuch on milk production and third prize of Rs. 50 thousand to Gopalak Ravendra Kumar Pandey, resident of Kathura Bedhan district Singrauli, for producing an average of 20.99 liters of milk per day by Sahiwal breed cow. Awarded with certificate and memento.

Animal Husbandry Minister Patel honored progressive farmers of Barwani district Jagdish, Sanjay Bhai, Annu Mehta, Mahendra Goswami, Santosh Patidar, Hitendra Patidar and Radheshyam Dhangar by giving them shawl-shreefal. He also honored the officers and employees of the Animal Husbandry Department for doing excellent work. Public representatives, administrative officers, senior officers of the Animal Husbandry Department and a large number of cattle herders were present in the programme.

Competitions were organized by the Animal Husbandry Department from February 1 to 15 to promote Indian advanced breed of cows with Madhya Pradesh’s original breed of cow – Malvi, Nimadi and Kenkatha.
