Moscow targets Ukrainian command centers, aviation equipment and ammunition with high-precision weapons

Moscow – Agencies:

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced, on Monday, the targeting of Ukrainian command centers, aviation equipment and ammunition with high-precision weapons.

The Russian defense said the air strikes targeted Ukrainian military airports. On Monday morning, at least ten explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, after Ukrainian air defense systems again intercepted Russian missiles and drones at night. And the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, spoke of explosions “in neighborhoods in the center” of the city, which is rare during the day, and called on residents to “stay in shelters.” For its part, the military administration in Kiev confirmed “the activation of air defense systems.”

Not a single night had passed since the fiercest attack by combat marches on the Ukrainian capital, until the Russian forces launched a series of intense air raids on Kiev since the early morning hours of Monday. However, the Ukrainian Air Force announced shooting down 29 marches and 37 missiles launched by Russia during the night, as Russia used a mixture of Iranian-made Shahed planes and cruise missiles launched from the Caspian Sea. The Ukrainian defense indicated that Kiev witnessed another difficult night, especially since it was the fifteenth attack during the month of May alone. The statement stressed that the Russians are doing their best to destroy the main targets, and at the same time to exhaust the resources of the Ukrainian air defense.

The Southern Command of the Ukrainian army said that Russia had placed a missile carrier in the Black Sea on a combat mission, including 8 Kalibr missiles. It added in a statement that at least 6 Russian ships are currently in the Black Sea and one in the Sea of Azov, noting that the level of the missile threat is very high. Around the town of Beli Gurvka, north of Bakhmut, Russian fighters continue their incursions into the positions of the Ukrainian army in order to complete the siege and encircle the town of Beli Gurvka. Russian forces also continue their ground incursions into the outskirts of the city of Avdiivka from the Podium region, with the cover of heavy military machinery and the use of smart bombs that are installed on the heads of missiles launched from fighter jets, amid Ukrainian resistance and steadfastness due to the strong fortifications prepared by the Ukrainian army to preserve the city. The town of Pervamayskaya is witnessing fierce battles between the Russian forces and the Ukrainian army, at a time when the Russian forces took control of dozens of additional meters from the sites south of the town.

The battles are still going on between the Russian and Ukrainian forces in the western axis of the city of Marinka, without any progress, according to the correspondent of Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath. As for Bakhmut, the Russian forces and Wagner forces still control the city, and the southern region of it is witnessing continuous Ukrainian counter-attacks in order to push the Russian forces to withdraw and regain control of areas in the city.
