“To stop the bombardment of Moscow, Kyiv must be occupied.” How Russian politicians reacted to the drone attack

– Published on:

On the morning of May 30, drones attacked several neighborhoods in Moscow and the Moscow region. The Ministry of Defense reported that there were eight drones, five of which were shot down by the Pantsir-S air defense system in the Moscow region, three were taken out by electronic warfare. The commission of inquiry has begun to investigate the “facts of the fall” of drones on buildings in the capital. How Russian politicians commented on the attack – in the Russian media compilation.

Chairman of the party “Fair Russia – Patriots – For the truth” Sergei Mironov :

“The morning attacks on Moscow and the Moscow region are the agony of the accomplices of the terrorist regime in Kyiv. This is a pathetic attempt to respond to the recent strikes by the RF armed forces on the military installations of the junta. <…>

Today’s events only reinforce our long-standing position on the need to completely eliminate Zelenskyy and his accomplices. This is the only way to achieve a complete denazification of Ukraine.

The best response to these attacks is the restitution of our ancestral territories, which have absurdly become part of today’s Ukraine. Sooner or later it will.”

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Peter Tolstoy :

“Yesterday, the governor (of the Belgorod region) Vyacheslav Gladkov said what needs to be done to stop the shelling of the Belgorod region – to annex the Kharkiv region to it. To stop the bombardment of Moscow, Kyiv must be occupied. We must mobilize all forces and all means.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov :

“It became possible because we have a very big country and there will always be a loophole where the drone can fly around areas where air defense systems are. <…>

It is essentially an information campaign. It is designed for the fact that now a wave of panic will rise, they will begin to postpone everything.

It is important for us not to let this happen. This is an act of intimidation targeting civilians.

Member of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Gurulev :

“I wouldn’t panic about a drone attack on Moscow and the Moscow region. <...> I’m more concerned with where they flew from, who launched them. Firstly, it is necessary to make an analysis and conclusions, and, secondly, the SMERSH is necessary, probably, other powers are needed today so that the security forces can work at full capacity in all regions of the Russian Federation and beyond, it will instantly give any bastard an effect that she did not wander into our country and did not shit.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Alexander Khinstein :

“The drone raid repulsed on Moscow today by a drone squadron is a new reality that must be taken into account.

Undoubtedly, Ukraine’s sabotage and terrorist attacks will only increase. And we must radically strengthen defense and security measures, particularly in the fight against drones.

Including the adoption of the necessary laws finally.

Member of the International Affairs Committee of the Council of the Federation Sergei Tsekov :

“The Kyiv regime strikes everywhere it looks. Most of them are civilian objects. Wishing to show their abilities, they demonstrate their helplessness in the face of the developing situation in a special military operation.

Former head of Roscosmos, head of the military advisory group “Tsar’s Wolves” Dmitry Rogozin :

“Hello, Moscow! I hope the pink dreams will go away now? Wake up country!
