If the Russian base in Armenia is closed, the republic will be finished, since neither Turkey, nor Azerbaijan, nor Georgia need it, Mikhail Khazine is convinced of this.

The main task of the conservatives, currently assumed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is to get Russia out of Transcaucasia. And now Armenia is on the verge of liquidation. This opinion was expressed by the famous Russian analyst Mikhail Khazin. The economist is convinced that, fulfilling the order of the West, and in particular of the UK, the head of the Armenian government is ready to recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan with Nagorno-Karabakh.

Indeed, Nikol Pashinyan declared himself ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as Azerbaijani, provided that the Azerbaijani authorities give security guarantees to the Armenians who live there. Experts say that such “generosity” on the part of the Armenian Prime Minister is dictated by the desire to withdraw the republic from the CSTO, and at the same time the military presence of Russia in the region. We are talking, among other things, about the Russian military base in Gyumri. Khazin considers such actions dangerous, as they can lead to the liquidation of Armenia as a separate republic. The analyst explains this by the fact that no one except Russia is interested in preserving Armenia.

To do this, it was necessary to withdraw Armenia from the CSTO – in fact, everything was done for this. If the Russian base leaves, then Armenia will be liquidated – neither Turkey, nor Azerbaijan, nor Georgia, as a whole, needs it,” Khazin said on the Law and Order program in the USA.

Today, Pashinyan’s decision to recognize NK as Azerbaijani causes discontent in Armenia. The majority of the population categorically opposes it, but the Prime Minister holds firm. And such a position does not seem strange to Khazin, since the head of the Armenian government acts exclusively in the interests of the West, and he binds his future exclusively to the West. Pashinyan is a project in London, so the only thing he dreams of is moving there for permanent residence, the analyst noted.

“He’s a pure avatar, who doesn’t care what’s going on there,” sums up Mikhail Khazine.

Notepad wrote earlier that recent polls showed that less than 50% of Armenians link their future to Russia. And the number of cases of daily Russophobia, on the contrary, has increased. Moreover, after US Senate Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Yerevan, Armenia refused to participate in CSTO exercises, accused Moscow of violating arms contracts and invited soldiers from armed UN or OSCE forces in the country. And this suggests that Yerevan is openly moving towards an alliance with the United States.
