Wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, who are agitating against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, have joined their duty in Northern Railway. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured the agitating wrestlers to get justice according to the law. At 11 pm on Saturday night, Home Minister Amit Shah met Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia along with some other wrestlers and listened to their complaints. Sources say that the Railways had given an ultimatum to Sakshi and Vinesh to join duty. The Home Minister told him to join duty and come to meet him, justice would be done to him. After Shah’s assurance, both of them joined duty and met Shah late on Saturday night. He explained in detail about the allegations leveled against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Amit Shah urged them to end the agitation and said that after registering the FIR, the police is investigating. He assured that the police is conducting a fair investigation. They will get justice and those found guilty will be punished.

Bajrang Punia attended the Khap Panchayat meeting held in Sonepat on Sunday. His tone was soft in this meeting. He only said that the next phase of the movement will be decided in the Panchayat only. The Khap Panchayat has given an ultimatum to arrest Brijbhushan Sharan Singh till June 9. After that there will be a meeting of Khap Panchayat. But Vinesh and Sakshi did not attend this meeting. It is believed that after the assurance of Amit Shah, the movement will slow down and Bajrang Punia will also join his duty. Bajrang Punia announced in Sonepat on Sunday that wrestlers would soon hold a mahapanchayat of their own. Addressing the Sarva Samaj Samarthan Panchayat in Mundlana of Sonepat district from Haryana in support of wrestlers, Poonia requested the speakers not to announce any decision and said that in the next three-four days the wrestlers will call a mahapanchayat. He said – We will hold a mahapanchayat and call for it. We’ll fix the place. We want to bring everyone together for that panchayat. We don’t want to be divided. Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary were also present in this panchayat.

So should it be understood that the movement of wrestlers has come to an end? In one stroke, Amit Shah ended the struggle that had been going on for months in minutes. We hope that Amit Shah will live up to his assurances and the guilty will be punished. A lot depends on what the Delhi Police says in its investigation report? If he confirms the allegations against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh in the investigation, then definitely he will be arrested and the law will take its course. But if Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh gets a clean chit in the police investigation report, then the matter will end here.
