Relief and rescue work went on for 53 hours, yet the life of two and a half year old Srishti could not be saved.
Bhopal. A two-and-a-half-year-old innocent girl lost her battle for life after falling into a 300-feet deep borewell in village Mungavali located in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. The girl was trapped at a depth of 150 feet. He was pulled out of the borewell after nearly 53 hours of rescue and relief operations. The rescue team pulled him out with robotic technology. The girl was not responding. He was directly taken in an ambulance to the district hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. After this the body was taken for postmortem.
In fact, on Tuesday afternoon at 1.00 pm, two and a half year old daughter of Rahul Kushwaha, a resident of village Mungavali, fell into an open borewell pit while playing in the nearby field. As soon as the information was received, the district administration started the rescue operation on a war footing. Oxygen was delivered through pipes inside the borewell. Ambulance and other necessary equipment were arranged on the spot. In-charge Collector Ashish Tiwari, SP Mayank Awasthi, DIG Monika Shukla were present at the spot the entire time. The staff of the police, administration and NDRF were gathering to get the girl out. Army was also called on the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, but there was no success in taking out the girl.
On Thursday, robotic teams from Delhi and Ahmedabad reached the village to get the girl out of the robot and started the rescue operation at 9 am. Rescue was also affected due to strong wind and rain in the afternoon. The robotic team took out the girl at around 5.30 pm. It was pulled out of the borewell by hooking it into the rod. From here he was brought to the district hospital without delay, where the doctor confirmed the death due to suffocation and sent him for postmortem. As soon as the news of the death of the girl child was heard, the atmosphere became inconsolable as the hope of the people coming to support the world including the parents was shattered.
Mahesh Arya, in-charge of the robotic team, told that the robot was inserted in the borewell, the first data obtained from it was scanned. From this it was known that what is the condition of the girl child and how to rescue her. An officer associated with the rescue operation told that the girl was in water 150 feet deep. He told that when the girl was taken out, she was unconscious. She was not responding in any way. We have done complete rescue with the help of army, NDRF with the data of robot. As soon as the girl came out, the doctor took the girl and took her in an ambulance and left for the hospital.
Case on bore owner and bore karta
Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi told that an unfortunate incident has happened. Action is being taken in this matter as per statutory rules. A case has been registered against the bore owner and the borer. FIR has been registered under section 181 and 308 IPS. After the post mortem report comes, advance action will be taken by increasing section 304.
