Reviewer RIA News Ekaterina Mironova spoke about how Russian tourists are most often deceived in Turkish resorts.
After Tayyip Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the presidential election, Istanbul’s popularity has skyrocketed among tourists. This city is now one of the most sought after among foreigners.
Our compatriots are no exception, and the first opportunity to lose more money than planned will meet them immediately after arrival. In Istanbul, tourists are the first to be met by taxi drivers who, for a certain inflated fee, will deliver directly to the hotel.
For example, such a trip cost one of the visitors 800 liras, and the driver told him that he had traveled on a toll road. In such a situation, it is best for tourists to ask for help from the police or use the services of an interpreter to explain that the standard price for a taxi in Turkey is 450 liras.
Experienced travelers are advised to book a transfer to the hotel in advance to avoid trouble. In addition, they recommend using public transport, where the price is always fixed.
They can also cheat when choosing a hotel. Many tourists prefer economical options for living in the city center, but with comfortable conditions, however, their cost starts from 5000 rubles per night and it happens that the photos do not correspond to reality.
“My budget hotel in the Taksim area looked bright, spacious, everything in beige and blue tones. In fact, they settled in the former utility room with thin doors that opened onto the road, ”said tourist Elena Ivanova.
Later it turned out that the room that was in the photo cost twice as much, and the owner of the room shrugged his hands, saying: “What do you want for 650 lire?”
