The director of the Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Kudryavtsev, who declared in March that human genetic diseases are the result of sin, has indeed been removed from his position as chief geneticist of the country at his own request. This Russian media was confirmed by the head of the Department of Biological Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences said that Kudryavtsev does not hold this position.
The Russian Academy of Sciences has confirmed the information that the director of the Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Kudryavtsev, has decided to resign from his position as Chairman of the RAS Council on Genetics and Animal Husbandry and Bureau of Biological Sciences Department, which was held on June 14, his request was granted. “Yes, it is,” Mikhail Kirpichnikov, academic secretary of the department, who chaired the board meeting, told Russian media.
Former press secretary of the President of the Academy of Sciences Anastasia Pechalova declared TASS that the genetics council was not headed by Kudryavtsev, but by academician Sergei Inge-Veshtomov, and that he was dismissed from his post the day before “due to his age”. The mention of Kudryavtsev on the website of the Institute of General Genetics as chairman of the board of Pechalova called an error.
“They have wrong information. Inge-Vechtomov headed the council before him (Kudryavtseva). Kudryavtsev was released at his request,” Academician Kirpichnikov confirmed. The bureau’s decision must now be approved by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In March, at the scientific and theological conference “God – Man – World”, organized by the Minsk and Sretensky Theological Academies, Kudryavtsev gave a report in which he shared his ideas on the structure of the world. In particular, he said that in the past, people’s life expectancy reached 900 years. Kudryavtsev referred to a painting that “can often be found on the Internet”, adding that he “constructed it himself”.
Moreover, according to the scientist, the cause of the mutations that cause the genetic diseases of modern man are sins – “original and personal”. He said that the Universe, created by God in the process of creation, fell into “corruption” due to the fall of people, due to which mutations occur in them.
