Warm welcome for the delegates

Bhopal. Attended the two-day Science-20 Conference – on ‘Connecting Science to Society and Culture’, organized under the G-20 in the capital Bhopal Representatives of G-20 member countries visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sanchi Stupa located in Raisen district on Saturday evening. All the delegates were given a grand welcome in the Stupa premises by applying Tilak and garlanding them according to Indian culture. All the delegates were overwhelmed by the warm welcome accorded to them in Sanchi, which is called the island of peace.

The representatives of the G-20 countries visited other heritage sites including Buddhist Stupas and were mesmerized by their beauty and architectural style. Along with the Buddhist stupas, the natural beauty of Sanchi also attracted him. The officials of the Archaeological Survey of India explained the teachings of Lord Buddha, the messages of Emperor Ashoka, the architectural style of the Sanchi Stupas, their historical and archaeological importance. The stories of Lord Buddha and his biography were displayed through laser show in the Sanchi Stupa complex, along with the life time of Emperor Ashoka was also highlighted.

During the visit, Raisen District Collector Arvind Dubey and officials of the Archaeological Survey of India accompanied the representatives of other countries including Brazil, UAE, UK, South Africa.

Representatives of Science-20 Group visited Van Vihar

Earlier, about 48 members of the Science Group of the G-20 Summit visited Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal on Saturday. During this tour of about two hours, the participants saw free-roaming herbivorous wild animals like chital, sambar, blackbuck, nilgai, jackal. The participating members were thrilled to see the tiger kept in a large enclosure. He also watched with great interest the lion, hyena, panther and sloth bear kept in the enclosure.

The participants asked Van Vihar director Padmapriya Balakrishnan questions related to wild animals during the tour and were satisfied with the answers. During the excursion, he also saw many species of birds like peacock, cormorant, pond, heron, egret, pentade stark etc. and was thrilled to hear their voices. The participants also enjoyed the view point of Pahadi Baba and appreciated the efforts made to preserve it. He appreciated the excellent conservation efforts being made in a small area located in the heart of the city.

During the visit to Van Vihar, Director, Assistant Director, Biologist and Area Officers gave interesting information about Van Vihar and wildlife to the participants.

Representatives of G-20 visited MP Tribal Museum, said- wonderful

Representatives of the scientific community of the G-20 member countries, invited states and international organizations, who came to the two-day Science-20 Conference-on “Connecting Science to Society and Culture” organized in the capital Bhopal, held the Tribal Museum on the second day on Saturday. visited. He visited various galleries of the museum, photo exhibition, Chinhari souvenir shop and library ‘Likhandra’. The representatives called the artistic combination of the oral and art tradition of the tribal community wonderful.

The G-20 representatives said that this is a unique museum of its kind, where the lifestyle, art, customs of the local tribal community have been displayed in a creative and vibrant form to the future generation. He closely got to know the art, culture, tradition and life-useful craft paintings, lifestyle and customs of the tribal groups living in Madhya Pradesh through paintings, sculptures and exhibits. Representatives of other countries including Indonesia, Brazil, UAE, UK and South Africa participated in the Science-20 conference.
