In the capital of Kuban, displaced women are being helped to master trades in demand. The “Own Profession” project in the territory of Kuban by the University of Vocational Education with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund has been implemented since autumn last year. Participants have the opportunity to undergo professional tests and tests to choose a new profession, in order to receive additional training.
In addition, individual consultations with a psychologist and recommendations on the development of business plans are available for participants. For those who are not ready to strive for entrepreneurship, representatives of the University of Vocational Education help create effective resumes and place them on electronic job boards.
The project organizers point out that it is in demand among the target group. For example, at present, more than 1,000 women have received free telephone consultations, social messengers and personal visits to the University. In addition, more than 250 people have passed professional tests and tests, 56 female participants have already received additional training, 35 women are planning to start their own business and are undergoing special training on writing a business plan. Today, 21 people are studying at the University and more than 50 will start their training in the near future.
“First of all, after the move, the women had to deal with pressing issues: food, housing, paperwork and financial assistance. After a month or two, the job issue came to the fore. Here the settlers also had difficulties – the irrelevance of the existing education, the lack of necessary skills. Today, we support women in learning new professions in demand on the online market (marketplace manager, nutrition consultant and graphic designer), as well as specialties in the field of beauty and services (beautician and florist) . Following the training, our University helps with employment and finding orders for self-employment. For those who are considering starting their own business, we have a business mentor who helps develop an individual strategy,” said Ivan Bazin, director of the University of Professional Education.
