Asad, son of former Samajwadi Party MP Atiq Ahmed, wanted in the famous Umesh Pal murder case, and his fellow shooter Mohammad Ghulam were killed in an encounter near Jhansi by the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force ie STF. They are scared and there is a feeling of satisfaction among the general public.

People are openly celebrating in front of Vaimre. In fact, after the Umesh Pal murder case 50 days ago, all the accused were absconding and the STF of Uttar Pradesh was after them. There was a reward of 5-5 lakhs on both the slain miscreants. The police personnel first warned Asad and Ghulam to surrender but both of them fired at the police, after which the STF personnel killed both of them. According to experts, the encounter took place during the day as per the established rules and under the rules, the bodies of both were sent for postmortem and the information was given to the Human Rights Commission and the concerned magistrate. In such an encounter, the police have the right to fire in self-defense under sections 94 to 104 of the Indian Penal Code. The Uttar Pradesh police, using their own rights, killed both the miscreants.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already announced that he would bury the killers of Umesh Pal. Apart from these two, the search for all the accused is going on in full swing. If they also do not surrender, then their plight is bound to be similar. Coincidentally, when the news of the death of Atiq’s son and his accomplice in the encounter spread across the country, at the same time both Atiq and his brother Ashraf appeared before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in the district court of Prayagraj on charges of Umesh Pal murder.

In fact, whatever influence Atiq had was due to his political connections. Those who helped him in the police included big officers. This is the reason that his tuti used to speak in Prayagraj and surrounding districts. No one was ready to testify against him. Umesh Pal was the main witness in the Raju Pal murder case. He was pressured many times to turn away from Atiq’s side, but he remained adamant till the end, so Atiq got him killed. It is a huge challenge before the police to protect the witnesses from the criminals and after the killing of Asad and Ghulam, at least the question of witness protection in the state will end. Police is not under any kind of pressure and that is why it is able to do professional policing. Due to this incident, the law and order environment has not only been established in the state, but there is also a discussion among the public that if there is political will and the will of the ruling power, no one in the state can escape from the hands of the law. But it seems that now in Uttar Pradesh the criminals will either be killed or surrender before the police because in the last 6 years the police has succeeded in disintegrating all their networks.
