The Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant (SHLZ) turns 80 on April 16. During all these years, it produced more than 235,000 elevators. According to Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, according to statistics, every fourth elevator in the country was produced by ShchLZ, and in 2021 and 2022 the plant’s share of the country’s elevator equipment market was 20%. . Ovchinsky pointed out that Moscow’s support also contributed to this success. So, in 2019, ShchLZ received the status of an industrial complex, which means significant tax benefits. The funds saved that the company can direct towards the development of the production and the widening of the range.
Now the Shcherbinsky plant produces elevators equipped with smart technologies that allow you to control the mechanism from a smartphone or provide almost 100% disinfection of cabins from bacteria and viruses. Last year, the factory launched production of high-speed (2.5 meters per second) elevators for high-rise buildings.
The modernization of the plant began in 2019, after its integration into the DOM.RF group, and will be completed by 2025. According to the CEO of the company Valentin Chernobaev,
production capacity should eventually increase by 30 percent.
Now the elevators, decorated with the abbreviation ShchLZ, are installed at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, the Elokhov Cathedral, the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station and many other iconic places.
