Today, approximately half of commercial turnover is provided by petrochemicals. It is important, but it does not fully reflect our capabilities, believes Alexander Lukashenko. Belarus and Russia are making a big bet on the industrial sector. According to him, this also applies to cooperation with Tatarstan. The MTZ-Tatarstan trade and production company already operates in Kazan, which has become a hub for the sale of the products of many Belarusian companies. And the Minsk Engine Plant, together with partners from Tatarstan, creates modern gas engines. The Ministry of Industry of Belarus and KAMAZ agreed to deepen cooperation in the production of automotive components, assemblies, assemblies and microelectronics. “We have to do it faster. Time makes us speed up,” BelTA said quoting the Belarusian leader. “I think we have to work,” replied Rustam Minnikhanov.

A meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan was held. The main question on the agenda is how to ensure technological sovereignty, independence from external factors. “We have no one closer than Belarus. Therefore, we must build technological sovereignty together, cooperatively,” Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Korobchenko said. The range of new areas of cooperation ranges from helicopters, which Volga residents can provide, to bison, which they want to buy from Belarus.

The meeting participants signed a number of documents that formed a sort of roadmap for expanding cooperation. Links between the ministries of culture of Belarus and Tatarstan will be strengthened. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Belarusian OJSC “AMKODOR” and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan. A roadmap for the project was signed between Tupolev PJSC, Kazan Aviation Plant. S. P. Gorbunov and OJSC “Minsk Civil Aviation Plant N 407” to expand Belarus’ participation in the production of components and parts for the Russian aircraft industry.
