In the Orel region, 100 people have already suffered from a tick bite

– Published on:

During monitoring of the level of outbreaks of infectious diseases transmitted by tick bites, it was found that as of April 20, 2023, about a hundred people came to medical institutions in the Oryol region with such a problem . Among them, 28 children. This was reported by the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Orel region.

This season, official cases of tick attacks have already been recorded in 12 municipalities in the region. However, disease situations due to tick-borne encephalitis have not yet been observed.

This year, 350 hectares of the Orel region will be treated with acaricides. However, the Rospotrebnadzor office in the Orel region informs citizens that the main measure for the prevention of ticks is personal protection. When traveling to areas endemic for tick-borne viral encephalitis, it is recommended that you get vaccinated against such an infection.
