The mayor of Sochi visited the blood transfusion station

Today, April 20, is National Donor Day in Russia. In honor of this important date, the head of Sochi, Alexei Kopaygorodsky, visited the local blood station and congratulated the staff and volunteers. He shared this information in his telegram channel .

The mayor noted that blood and its components are supplied from Sochi with the participation of the regional Ministry of Health to the medical institutions of Abkhazia in Tuapse. A total of about 1,800 active donors live at the resort, and today another Sochi resident received an honorary donor badge and certificate from Russia.

Marina Vechelkovskaya, head of the Sochi branch of the SPK, said that more and more young people are donating blood every year – most donors are under forty years old. For example, Pavel Popov, a student of the SGO, visited the medical center of the blood service with the mayor.

“We will continue to support all youth initiatives that are important to the city. I am sincerely happy that the energy of our young residents of Sochi is directed for the benefit of the resort: to projects for the development of volunteering and helping people, ”wrote the head of the Olympic capital in his social networks.

Earlier in the day, the Sochi MP wrote that Kopaygorodsky took a detour to social facilities being built in the city. Recall that the mayor inspected two schools under construction.
