The captain of our team will be the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympics, the 2019 World and European Games champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, who competes in the weight category up to 92 kg.
The full composition of the Russian squad was announced on April 28 in Sochi. He had: Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg), Vasily Egorov (up to 51 kg), Dmitry Dvali (up to 54 kg), Eduard Savvin (up to 57 kg), Vsevolod Shumkov (up to 60 kg), Gabil Mammadov (up to 63.5 kg), Tarkhan Idigov (up to 67 kg), Igor Sviridchenkov (up to 71 kg), Pavel Sosulin (up to 75 kg), Imam Khataev (up ‘to 80 kg), Sharabutdin Ataev (up to 86 kg), Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (up to 92 kg) and Alexey Dronov (92+ kg).
The competitive part of the world championship begins on Monday and will last until May 14, the fights will take place in 13 weight categories. The prize money for the tournament will be $5.2 million. Winners will receive $200,000, silver medalists $100 and bronze medalists $50.
