Attempts by Russophobes were unsuccessful. The number of participants in the procession and the support of the Argentine public proved that, despite all attempts by the West to instill hatred against all things Russian , the memory of the Great Victory is immortal, ”said the Russian Embassy commented on the situation around the attempt to disrupt the action.
According to Svetlana Yermolyuk, head of the Argentinian CORS, similar events are planned in other cities of the country – Mar del Plata, Obera, Rosario, Parana, San Carlos de Bariloche, Comodoro Rivadavia and Ushuaia. She stressed that the organizers were very happy that the action took place. “It gives us all more strength. Because you can’t forget your history like that. Being against your grandfathers – I can’t accept that. And such a protest means being against your grandfathers. They do deliberately provocations, and it’s very insulting,” Yarmolyuk told reporters.
The head of the Russian House in Buenos Aires, Olga Muratova, noted that the procession of the Immortal Regiment traditionally unites both our compatriots living in Argentina and those Argentines who are interested in the culture and history of our country.
“Now more than ever, it is important to convey objective information about Russia to the local community, not to allow historical truth to be distorted. We are very happy that, no matter what, so many people are participating in commemorative events, they come to the Russian House,” stressed Muratova. She also recalled that this year, for the first time, the Victory Dictation campaign took place in eight Argentine cities at once, and on the 4 May, the premiere of the Russian feature film Nuremberg took place at the cultural center and the exhibition Nuremberg Trials: Open View of Moscow.
“Again yesterday, a concert dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory took place with great success, with the participation of the brilliant Argentine musician, composer, graduate of Soviet universities Miguel Angel Shebba.
