From the particle of the Eternal Flame brought to Cyprus, dozens of lamps were lit, and several of them were handed over on the same day to Russian veterans of the Great Patriotic War living on the island, who, for reasons of health, could not arrive at the event.

In the capital of the Republic of Cyprus – Nicosia – from a particle of the Eternal Flame, lamps will be lit near the icon of the Holy Trinity “Homeland”.<p class=””>The festive program devoted to the Day of Victory in Cyprus includes the exhibitions “The Way to Victory” and “The Nuremberg Trials. View from Moscow”, as well as the screening of the film “Nuremberg” directed by Nikolai Lebedev.

Victory car rallies are planned in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. On May 9, a procession of the “Immortal Regiment” will take place in the center of Limassol. A festive concert and fireworks are also planned here. According to the organizers, field kitchens and fairs will operate at all sites. Considering that more than 5,000 people are expected to attend the event, special emphasis is placed on putting in place all the necessary security measures. On this issue, Russian diplomats are cooperating closely with the Cypriot authorities, representatives of the Russian Embassy in Nicosia told RG.
