For the first time, the agency reminds, the relay race ended with a solemn meeting in the concert hall “Minsk” with a report to the president of the republic. The senior relay group, and now a distinguished veteran, chairman of the regional association “Belarusian Writers’ Union”, retired Colonel Leonid Krivonos, reported on their results. More than five thousand kilometers will have to be covered by the relay participants, who will visit Polotsk and Verkhnedvinsk, Braslav and Grodno, Brest, Pinsk and Gomel, many outposts and border units in two weeks. And the relay race ends on the day of border guards, May 28, in the Belarusian capital on Victory Square.
As for the program of the large-scale campaign, the agency clarifies, it includes military-patriotic events that will take place in the permanent deployment of military units, as well as in border settlements.
First, they will be presented in the form of lessons in courage, meetings of young people with veterans of the border service, rallies and laying of flowers at border places of glory.
By the way, concerts are planned for residents of border settlements with the help of military bands and the entire Institute of Border Services, as well as demonstrations of cynologists, exhibitions of weapons, equipment and other events, explains the agency.
