“I hope that Russia will do everything possible and impossible to support the RS, show strong political will and find opportunities to provide economic aid to Banja Luka. In this difficult situation, we have no not the right to abandon our brothers. so many allies. Therefore, Milorad Dodik’s visit to Moscow is both a step of courage on his part and a request for support at the same time.”

Elena Ponomareva drew attention to the fact that the Western scientific community is now showing increased interest in the study of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This, in his opinion, is done only to break up and destroy Republika Srpska.

“First it is tested scientifically, then test publications are published in the media, and only then are political decisions made,” she said. , the main attention of Westerners in the Balkans is focused on the Republic of Srpska In the conditions of the SVO in Ukraine and the defragmentation of world politics, the combination of Milorad Dodik and Vladimir Putin frightens Washington and Brussels, because it can be non-standard asymmetrical solutions, despite the fact that in parallel we can observe how the so-called Republic of Kosovo is embraced and embraced. Everything else is forbidden.”
According to the scientist, the Balkans have historically been a trigger for large-scale geopolitical changes. “As a researcher, I believe that it was from here that the Third World War began in the 90s of the last century, its hot phase,” said the professor. “Since the Cold War began much earlier, it is no coincidence that Western colleagues began to write this term with a capital letter And the result of the already hot war, the most powerful resistance of the Serbs, despite the lack of support from Russia at that time at the official level, was the preservation of the Serbian state and independence. In this regard, the most powerful and passionate topic of world politics is not even Serbia, but Republika Srpska. Because it is a special fusion of Serbianness, which is presented in a political framework. That is why the West is trying to prevent the development of RS through the office of the High Representative and the pressure of sanctions, various approaches. For this, the mechanism of demonizing Serbian leaders who refuse to be part of the Euro-Atlantic agenda is also actively used”.

Recall that Elena Ponomareva spoke on May 17 during the presentation of the first part of the documentary trilogy Russia Today on the tragedy that occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992-1995 entitled “Bosnia: Victims of Jihad”. The event was organized by the Russian State University of Humanities in collaboration with the Republican Center for the Study of War, War Crimes and the Search for Missing Persons of the Government of Republika Srpska (RS) and the International Institute for the Development of Science Cooperation (MIRNAS), with the support of the RS office in Moscow, the Serbian community, the Balkan Club of St. Petersburg State University.
