The Republic of Cuba is an important partner and a popular vacation destination for Russian citizens. Through joint efforts, we must create the necessary conditions for the growth of mutual tourist flow, and already this year to reach pre-pandemic indicators, ”said Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that previously it was decided to resume regular flights from Moscow to Cuba. They will be carried out by a subsidiary of PJSC Aeroflot – a/c Russia. The flights are planned to operate with a frequency of 3 flights per week for 650-750 passengers in both directions of the flight.
“Russian tour operators are increasing direct charter flights – from June there will be 4 weekly flights to Varadero, as well as 2 flights every 10 days to Cayo Coco. The new Aeroflot flights will double the frequency of flights, passenger traffic of Aeroflot will reach more than 50,000 people by the end of the year. Thus, the total expected passenger flow will be about 150,000 people by the end of 2023. All these measures will allow Russia to take first place in terms of total tourist flow to Cuba,” Chernychenko said.
