In Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the exhibition “To remember” about the Second World War

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the “To Remember” exhibition, which opened here on Saturday. The event is intended to remember the feat of the Russian and Serbian peoples in their struggle for peace, freedom and the right to existence, as well as the atrocities of the Nazis against the civilian population.

According to the correspondent of “RG”, the participants of the event agreed that the historical memory of the Slavic peoples is increasingly the subject of targeted actions by the United States and NATO satellites, who, through such dubious practices, realize their ambitions.

Scientists cited destructive media campaigns as well as poor knowledge of the subject by young people as the main threats.

As the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of East Sarajevo, Draga Mastilovich, said in an interview with RG, this topic is more relevant than ever in today’s geopolitical realities.
According to him, when analyzing the problems and contradictions of Russian history, the West clearly falls into a negative bias and often resorts directly to slander. In this regard, he especially noted the positive role of the Russian Historical Society in forming students’ ideas about citizenship, patriotism and national unity.

In turn, the Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Kalabukhov, noted that despite the lies and attempts of a number of European countries to rehabilitate Nazism and relativize the crimes, the Serbs do not give up and do not renounce the truth. The diplomat recalled that this year we celebrated the 78th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II – our common victory. We celebrated honorably and openly throughout Republika Srpska with marches of the “immortal regiments” and the laying of wreaths to allies in memory of victims and heroes.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by a member of the Presidium of the RIO, the director of the Institute of Russian History Yuri Petrov, the acting chairman of the board of directors of the organization Ruslan Gagkuev, as well as Nikita Gusev from the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
